A dozen events to mark your calendars with, in 2019, within India

I have been striving to be minimalist in the events I attend and the platforms I curate. There are ten events I attend annually as a fixture and several others on an ad hoc basis. The five I attend are TEDx Gateway, HT Leadership Summit, Tech Sparks (I buy a pass but have missed out on attending two years in a row), one international conference and another one in India. Those two this year will be EMENA Comm by IABC in Bahrain on Feb 11th and 12th and the IAA World Congress in Kochi between February 20th and 22nd.

Besides these I organise one huge jamboree and support four others with my limited expertise.

Here is a list of the ten you must mark on your calendar and there is one which is later this week that you must attend and I will give you five reasons why…

Innovation First Communication Conclave on March 7th is exclusively for in-house communicators and is jointly curated by Reputation Today and First Partners with The Holmes Report in attendance.

Influence Now Communication Conclave in May in Mumbai is open to all PR professionals and is jointly hosted by Reputation Today and Godrej.

The Super Night series runs through the year with MSL as the presenting partner.

PRAXIS this year will be held in Goa on 27th and 28th September with Adfactors having been the headline partner for two years in a row and over 25 other partners supporting this summit, which is now in its eighth year.

Besides these four there is a unique conference that I have helped create with a team of five others and this platform will be live later this
week in its third edition and will be held in Bangalore on February 9th. The event is called Knowledge Factory and it is unlike most business conferences because the topics are varied and the speakers are not the ones you would find at a regular business conference. While the conference is open to everyone, from all walks of life I strongly recommend that those in marketing communications attend this to get a new perspective on about half a dozen topics. The speakers include Varun Gandhi, Tisca Chopra, Rohini Nilekani among others. A highlight of the conference is a grand quiz with prizes worth Rs 1 lakh in cash and kind to the winner and runner-up team.

I am confident that the day-long programme will be worth your while and help you understand certain ideas and concepts better. More importantly you will get to meet people from different organisations and professions. Tickets are available here and details of this conference are here.

I invite you for a day of learning and look forward to meeting you at one or more of these. If you are Bangalore based kindly opt to be at Knowledge Factory on Saturday. There are pots available. If you cannot afford the entry ticket, DM me and I will help you get a scholar pass at Rs 500/-.
