The Young Pride Challenge is here and so is the all-new ABC Prize

The time has come to encourage young professionals in every field. I began to define young, a couple of years ago when I turned 35. My reference was to those younger than me. And for whatever it is worth, 35 and under is young.

I felt I was lucky to have been exposed to opportunities because I made an extra effort to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes all extra effort can be futile. But we must not stop trying, for excellence. In a bid to make international events accessible we at Reputation Today have created two tracks aimed at professionals from either side of the aisle.

The Young Pride Challenge

This is an initiative aimed at teams from PR consulting firms. While the team members can be from the same firm or different firms, we would not encourage professionals working in non-PR firms to participate because it defeats the purpose of what we are setting out to do.

A team of two has to work on a campaign plan based on a brief available online and respond within a stipulated time. The winning team gets an all-expense paid trip to Helsinki, Finland to attend the ICCO Global Summit on 5th and 6th October. ICCO is offering two complimentary registrations. PRCAI will support the flight and visa costs. Reputation Today and SCORE will jointly pay for the accommodation for 3 nights. The winners also win a complimentary registration to PRAXIS, this year or next.

It’s as simple as that. We hope the Young Pride Challenge is emulated by other country associations to offer a world-class opportunity to its talented, young professionals.

The Ace Business Communicator Prize

This is exclusively for in-house communications professionals under 35 (so those born in 1982 or after). Similar to the challenge, this is for individuals in corporate communications who need to respond to a case study on social change. The two individuals who win will get an all-expense paid trip to Miami, USA to attend #PRovoke 17 on October 24th and 25th. The Holmes Report is offering two complimentary registrations. On Purpose Consulting will pay for the accommodation for 3 nights. A consortium of 5 organisations – ICG (through a generous grant of Seema Ahuja and Shravani Dang), The Promise Foundation (through a generous grant of Bodhisatya Basuthakur and Chiku Somaiya), MxM India, Reputation Today and SCORE along with couple of other partners will pay for the flight and visa costs. Again, it just needs some effort and you could be the next ABC Prize winner.

I hope four young professionals benefit from this every year and the tribe keeps growing.
