The Trampoline Reinventive Mindset

POSTED BY: Amitesh Banerjee 23 March 2026

Been thinking deep over the past few days. It’s a disruptive world that increasingly surrounds us. Look at the changing weather patterns and even the middle east disruption which is affecting our lives in some way or the other. It’s gone beyond the LPG shortage crisis and the F&B businesses crumbling. As a chain reaction various related businesses are uncertain. The tourism business is on shaky grounds; there is a fear of fuel prices going up and as a result increased inflation. On the other hand, the weather patterns are making the farmers and allied businesses uncertain. To add to all this fake news, strike the minds of various stakeholders.

Before we understand the rationale behind this mindset, lets understand ‘reinvention’ better. According to the renowned thought leader Carolyn Herfurth- “In my definition of reinvention, is that you marry the powerful, joyful parts of your vast universe of experiences — with a strategy that carries you through to your updated, upgraded vision and goals.” Yes, the road to survival is to constantly reinvent and adapt, however today’s reinvention needs to be rapid and fast, almost like you are constantly on a trampoline. Which is why in my sincere view we need to mature to the Trampoline Reinventive Mindset.

However, evolving to this mindset is not easy, it needs you to be alert and pick up signs of change quickly, but also bounce, rebound and move forward. Speed here of course is the key essence.

Mindset is all about how your mind is set

Let’s go back to the concept of mindset itself because we essentially are how our mind is set. Our behaviour comes from our mindset. Mindset gets auto curated in our mind from our upbringing and genes, but also through our own experiences, both positive and negative. As we grow from crawling to walking to running, our brain puts together our values and attitudes. Then we have our teachers in life, starting with our parents, elders and other teachers in school, college and thereafter in the world of work. We all know that our biggest influencers are our friends and how they lead their lives and their values. Then of course we mature as we age and our mindset matures too. The advice here is to change your mindset only if you believe in the new mindset you want to adopt. Mindsets are a set of habits. And habits are tough to change.

So, what’s the Trampoline Reinventive Mindset all about?

When I searched the internet to find out more, so that its easier for my readers to understand how minds work, I found this apt description of the Trampoline Reinventive Mindset which describes it as “a proactive, growth-oriented mental framework for adapting to constant change, prioritizing self-reflection to update skills, habits, and identity to stay relevant and fulfilled.”

What are the basic changes we need to imbibe in us other than super quick sensitivity to any changes? For one, we get up and run when we fall. We view every failure as valuable feedback which helps us progress and move ahead. Not only accept change as a key way of life in the current times but embrace uncertainties as opportunities. Also anticipating possible scenarios of things changing and creating plans to overcome them. Its pretty much what we PR professionals teach clients about crisis management. In simple words the best strategy in crisis management is to pre-empt it!

Learn to be fully functional in a zone of discomfort, leave your ego in the nearest dustbin, get into a relearning mode. Leave rigidity behind to become flexible. Ride the big wave. Watch it come and don’t go under.

Just take a pause before you jump in – do a deep rethink

The transition into this mindset in my view is another shade of transition from a fixed to a growth mindset. Again, quoting from the internet This mindset is crucial for navigating modern, rapid shifts in career and life, often described as breaking the “old” to build a more relevant “new”.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself”

 George Bernard Shaw
