Computers play important role in communication media performance in today’s modern society. Man, machine communication is important as man created machines to do work Dr Steven L Renshaw former professor of Communication of Southwestern Louisiana taught a course in Fall 1983 on man machine communication and discussed how computers and others changed workplace. He discussed psychological concepts of Carl Jung as anima animus among others in a similar course. Computers changed 20th century and internet reformed workplace even more. Machines d work in car assembly section as Dr Renshaw said and automation has transformed workplace. Banking computer reservation of railway airline tickets has all been possible due to machines and mechanical engineering has transformed factories in a great way. Former CM MGRs move to start more engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu created equality in education among engineering and non-engineering graduates and reduced inequality in society.
Science is advanced today and darkness of science is well known. The proliferation of nuclear weapons among both superpowers threatens mankind. The collaboration in space exploration is there but there is hardly any other collaboration between them. The ideology of science of advanced societies created more past time but it is not being used for good purposes but mainly in destructive activities.
Machines are made by scientific achievements and so also are computers The automobile revolution is on and India under PM Modi has more car makers than other countries in this region. Japan exported automobiles to America, and it stopped or reduced during Reagan administration to save American jobs.
Many computer companies like CMC in public sector were started during Indira Gandhi time and she also valued humans as she shelved Silent Valley project fearing harm to nature and environment. PM Modi also spoke on semi-conductor AI and participated in many conferences in developed countries on computers in many years.
Dr Hagerman prof of communication of Southwestern Louisiana University taught computers and communication course during Fall 83 and this had discussed use of computers nonmathematical basic word processing among others. The students used to type thesis and research papers on computers easily to obtain printouts for classes.
Computers and communication also have social and psychological dimensions as how man interacts with machines and his mental stamina and other things. Psychologically computers affect man and his work and longtime use may reduce creativity. Like violence on TV affecting people machine usage may impact man also.
Man, machine communication is another course taught by Dr Steven L Renshaw professor of communication of same university and discussed interface between both science and technology man in 20th century and 21st among others as said before. Computerization has led to faster work but reduced human labor and made man redundant in societies as India and America. PM Modis modernization drive should not reduce work force as India is still in third world countries as per parameters. Congress governments led by Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were soft on human labour although they had other limitations. More work force is being sent from jobs now in India and America more. Finally, computers and communication will be a topic of discussion among academics everywhere.
