SCoRe is coming of age…

Batch of 2019

Everything takes time. Patience is a virtue. I have seen this when we created PRAXIS and also when we built Knowledge Factory. It takes three years or three editions or three batches to hit a point of success. Same is the case with the first post-graduate centre that I was privileged to co-create with a few great professionals three years ago. We made sacrifices, we went through struggles and we overcame challenges. But we did not give up. We began with a batch of nine in the first year. We had to change locations and the batch strength dropped to six and five in the subsequent years. I was sure it was not the end of the road. My partner and co-founder Hemant Gaule was relentless in his pursuit of excellence. And he really worked smart in the past few months to do a bunch of things to hit the jackpot. I am not going to write about what we did but I’m writing about the five things that stand out to ensure SCoRe is coming of age. And that this labour of passion and dedication is here to stay.

  1. The students that we see coming into the next batch starting on August 1st are a cut above. They have all heard of us from word-of-mouth and are seeking to learn at what they believe is the best place to get an education in Public Relations.
  2. Our unique model makes it economical for the students because we are asset light and our foundation is built on goodwill rather than on commercial interests. This sets us apart. We run the school as if it were a philanthropic institution.
  3. There is immense outpouring of support from the fraternity at large. In terms of time spent by over 25 professionals who come and teach entire courses and an equal number who come and take masterclasses.
  4. Students in the upcoming academic year come from diverse corners of the country including from Bhubaneshwar, Konnagar, Dibrugarh and Jhansi. This is a boost to our belief that we need institutes like SCoRe in the metro to serve students from Middle India.
  5. Lastly, our pedagogy on 100 X 3 – which is learn about 100 different brands, meet 100 different professionals including several at PRAXIS and write 100 different pieces including 40+ blogs is unique and prepares the aspirants for a long and solid innings in PR.

Well, we are confident of growing from strength to strength and becoming THE centre for learning when it comes to reputation management. SCoRe maybe owned by a set of partners who have invested time and money but it belongs to every present and future PR professional in the country. SCoRe has indeed come of age and as we announce our intake for the next batch two months from now, you will know how far we have come from our inception. Hat tip to the vision of NS Rajan and Bela Rajan and two other PR veterans who put their hard earned money into something that will be a boon to the Indian PR ecosystem in years to come.
