The amazing ‘go-getter’ mindset!

There are many mindsets one can adopt for greater impact and success however, there are some mindsets that one can adopt overall. The ‘go-getter’ mindset is one of them. Above all, people admire and respect achievers. It is difficult to achieve objectives and goals set for business. Needs a lot of elbow grease and perseverance to get there. Although this column is meant for communication professionals the content taken from life’s university can be used by anyone to better their lives.

The one who wins is always a winner!

In today’s business world many rules have changed, many new techniques have emerged. However some elements remain unchanged. The most important being, successful business means sustained commercial success. There are barriers and problems but despite these if business objectives and purpose goals are met, you are deemed to be a successful leader. Such leaders are called ‘go getters’ and are much in demand. What is therefore a ‘go-getter’ mindset and how do you evolve to this mindset?

What is a ‘go-getter’ mindset?

A go-getter just doesn’t stop till he gets what he wants. When others have tried and given up, a go-getter ‘keeps going’ till he has achieved what he set out to. With a go-getter mindset, you will just torpedo ahead till you reach and surpass your goals. You become a role model for your team members and community leader in your society. You can have the most effective strategy in place, but without seamless execution your strategy will not work. A ‘go-getter’ mindset equips you to be the perfect executionist, adapting to barriers and changes as you surge ahead.

How do you evolve into a ‘go-getter’ mindset?

The basic formula to evolve into any mindset is the same as evolving into any of the 40 mindsets explained in this column earlier. You need to set a firm resolve to change and identify what you need to change in yourself. Set a timeline and get the ball rolling. Remember, change of mindset means behavior change and in many ways doing things differently. It’s no easy task but any change is not easy. Say you get onto a diet for healthier living, you need to control your natural habits and impulses. Eat lesser quantities and most of the time avoid eating as you did, as well as accommodate yourself to your new rhythm of life. Mindset changes are even more difficult, but the fruits are just unbelievable. So brace up and get started!

Evolve into a human volcano of bursting ⁸energy!

Disrupt your workplace with countless energy and enthusiasm. Go-getters are like racing cars. They zoom ahead of others with what needs to be done. They know the way, show the way and race the way. You will need to help your own self with energy triggers like physical exercise, good sleep, a calm mind and the confidence and capability that you can achieve anything. Around you, you will have only 3 kinds of people. One kind who will make it happen for you, another kind who will watch you make it happen and the third and the last kind who will wonder what happened!

Remain focussed on your goals

You will always need to be focussed on your goals and how fast and how best you can achieve them. Anticipate your barriers in advance and be ready to face them objectively and effectively. Remember, low hanging barriers are the result of faulty planning. Go through your strategy with the execution feasibility tooth comb. Revisit you strategy as you implement it. Refine as you execute. It’s understood that everything does not work out as we plan. Have your back up plans ready to press into action. You cannot go wrong.

What I have stated above is just the tip of the iceberg. Developing a ‘go-getter’ mindset is not easy. You will need to have perseverance and tenacity. Empathy and practicality. Only then you can bloom!
