Think about your role models, achievers and leaders. Among other natural talents what is the one quality that sets them apart? High energy. Despite your right attitude and an aptitude of excellence, this mindset takes you onwards and upwards. Usually this mindset is personal, varying from individual to individual. Some are born with this mindset. But it’s a mindset that can be achieved by changing your habits and creating a new set of behaviours. It takes effort and time but which new skill does not?
Basically, the human mind and body need energy to function. Times have changed and over the years the productivity and output expected has increased exponentially. Therefore the expectation for human beings to perform at peak level consistently is the norm. Work today is intense and turnaround time is shorter. Also the ability to multitask effectively is one of the key requirements in the business environment today. Perfection is not good enough and tenacity is the real new normal. Business has become highly competitive and therefore it’s really the survival of the fittest. Besides as you would know, everyone is trying to make up for lost time and opportunities post the 2 year pandemic restrictions.
Therefore the need of the hour is to perform at the next level. Obviously to make this evolution happen you need a ‘ high energy mindset’. What are a few simple steps you can take to develop this right mindset?
The first step is to consciously increase your focus to the next level. Increase your ability to concentrate through practice. Learn to focus despite multiple distractions. Help your brain. You can resort to meditating purposefully. Start doing yoga and brain exercises. Without a razor sharp focus you will not be able to channelise your high energy mindset in the right direction. Once you start reinventing yourself to your best level of focus, you can use this very focus to amplify your energy levels. Like most changes, this process is not an overnight process but once you are there, your passionate focus can do wonders in your profession.
A healthy body houses a healthy mind
Mental fitness comes from physical fitness. Ensure that you have a balanced and nutritious diet. Stay healthy and stay fit. Workout, exercise and pick up a sport you enjoy. Be active and play games that test your mental and physical tenacity. Do your medical checkups regularly and ensure that you stay away from lifestyle diseases. Ailments can sap your energy and confidence. Remember, high energy will place high demands from your body. You should be able to cope with ease
Remember, good and deep sleep is a key to great health. Your body is at its optimum level when you get the right amount of sleep. It’s a turbo booster of it’s own. There are enough methods for good sleep published on the internet. Read, imbibe and practice. To get a good and sound sleep you will also need to destress and reboot. While sports is a great way to destress, try having fun too. Pursue a hobby you like or even party with friends. While coffee may help your high energy mindset kickstart in the mornings, too much caffeine can have its negative side effects.
Develop a can do attitude
A positive attitude can take you places you want to go to but a can do attitude will take you places you never could imagine! Don’t take the easy path always. Take the tough path and reach your destination. Be a go-getter, exude confidence and trust yourself and your abilities. This itself will fire all your energies of enthusiasm and you will vroom forward with an infectious high energy mindset. Don’t be all talk and no action. Let your Lambhorgini make all the noise. Be relentless, keep going till you reach one destination and then the other. Be your own competitor, consistently raise your bar. Have fun, celebrate your achievements and enjoy life!
