An opportunity like no other for youngsters in PR to take pride in

It is that time of the year when Reputation Today partners with half a dozen entities to offer Public Relations professionals working in-house and in consultancies an opportunity to apply to be able to win a grand prize like no other. Three professionals under 35 can win an all-expense paid trip to an international conference. The supporting entities pay for the conference pass, for accommodation for upto three nights and for economy flight tickets from any Indian metro. Winners also get a free pass to PRAXIS where they are publicly honoured, if they choose to attend.

Here’s how it works:

For in-house professionals – The ABC Prize

If you are in Corporate Communications, you may participate as an individual. You must be born on or after January 1st 1984, to apply by sending your response in the prescribed format. The winner is chosen by a jury, comprising at least three professionals, in the first week of May and the announcement is made on May 16th. The winner gets a prize worth Rs 1.5 lakh approximately. The prize includes a pass to Provoke – the global summit held in Washington DC in October. The conference pass is sponsored by The Holmes Report. Accommodation is sponsored by On Purpose Consulting. The flight ticket and visa costs are sponsored by a consortium of four organisations including two veteran corporate communication leaders from the Indian Communicators Group (ICG) – Seema Ahuja and Shravani Dang. The winner also gets an opportunity to be mentored by these two outstanding women. MxM India, The Promise Foundation, SCoRe and Reputation Today also pitch in the remainder of the costs for travel.

For consultancy professionals – Young Pride Challenge

If you are in a PR consultancy firm that is a member of PRCAI, you may participate as a team of two. You must be born on or after January 1st 1984, to apply by sending your response in the prescribed format. The winner is chosen by a jury, comprising at least three professionals, in the first week of May and the announcement is made on May 16th. The winning team gets a prize worth Rs 2 lakh approximately in total. The prize includes a pass to the ICCO Global Summit which will be held in October in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference pass is sponsored by ICCO. Accommodation for two nights is sponsored by Reputation Today. The flight ticket and visa costs are sponsored by PRCAI.

It’s rewarding that such opportunities are available to younger professionals and they are able to make the most of them. Previous year’s winners may not apply. However, if they decide to apply they are welcome to do so. In the event of them winning, the announcement is made but the prize is passed on to the next winning team. There is no fee for those applying before the early deadline. After the early deadline, a fee of Rs 1000/- is applicable. All the best! May the best individual and the best team win.
