The two day summit PRAXIS held on the 5th and 6th of August 2022 in the city of Chandigarh was a first for me in the sense of attending a huge official and professional PR event. It was an event where I both had great fun and learned a lot with regard to my professional life.
I wouldn’t have been able to imagine the loss of experience and exposure had I missed the opportunity to attend the event. Praxis9 is without a doubt one of the most prestigious events in the PR profession in India. During my stay in the days of the event, both within and outside, I had the opportunity to meet PR professionals from various parts of the country with different ranges of experience. Meeting these individuals in the event has helped me better appreciate my own profession as a PR practitioner in a way, for the acknowledgement is mutual and even motivating.
An important achievement that I received in this event is the convocation that was conferred to me by the School of Communications and Reputation (SCoRe), my alma mater. For the most part of my life PR has been relatively unknown to me as a career option as opposed to others; and navigating it through this uncharted path as a novice has been made a lot easier with the guidance and support of my seniors/mentors and colleagues. I would like to especially thank Amith Prabhu, Hemant Gaule and Ritu Bararia for without whose constant support and mentorship I would not have been able to utilize the opportunities that came my way, and some important ones like the Praxis9 event that came through them.
The event was well organised. I had the opportunity to be a volunteer in managing the stage. Out of the many things appreciable of the event the time management was excellent. Not to mention the number of resource persons on stage–their speeches were insightful and the wisdom of experience was reflected in all of them. They not only inspired me but also provided for a multiplicity of perspectives and approaches to my take on PR.
It is the kind of event that I certainly look forward to participate in the future as well.
