The Tech Whisperer

The Tech Whisperer is a book authored by Jaspreet Bindra, a prominent personality in the field of digital transformation and new age technology. Aptly named for its ability to simplify emerging technologies, including AI, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and virtual reality, The Tech Whisperer clarifies how companies can harness these innovations to boost their digital transformation.

What does the book cover?

In the rapidly evolving landscape of modern business, companies worldwide are facing challenges posed by new technologies, disruptive business models, and innovative start-ups. Bindra emphasises the urgency for organisations to adopt transformative technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and virtual reality to remain competitive and agile.

The Tech Whisperer lives up to its name by demystifying and simplifying these complex technologies, making them accessible to a wider audience. Bindra not only explains the fundamentals of these technologies but also provides practical insights on how companies can implement them to drive their digital transformation efforts.

The Tech Whisperer is a simple book on the evolution of technology being applied in organisations. The book serves as a comprehensive guide for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in understanding and harnessing the power of emerging technologies.

Bindra has shared his 10 commandments of Digital Transformation to help an organisation or its leader drive the change. The process of Digital Transformation has been explained as the Holy Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva.

  1. Brahma – The Creator – Business Models
  2. Vishnu – The Preserver – Customer Experience
  3. Shiva – The Destroyer – People and Culture

The author has also shared McKinsey’s 10 guiding principles, which is a detailed approach to digitally transform a legacy company.

Key highlights for me are: Five Principles of Generative AI:

  1. Utilise it to generate your content, not merely for searching; enhance it with your intelligence.
  2. Generative AI won’t replace you, but rather the person using it. Therefore, acquire the skill and expertise.
  3. Focus on industry-specific verticals; startups are creating valuable verticals – examples include copy.ai, detangle.ai, murf.ai, jasper.ai, and notion.ai.
  4. Generative AI will transform technology as significantly as social media or email; it reshapes the tech landscape.
  5. Generative AI is distinct from AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) and is not more intelligent than humans, so collaborate with it rather than fearing it.

What’s in it for me?

As a non-tech professional, the book debunked several misconceptions for me. It held my attention by presenting captivating ideas that connect the domains of mythology and the modern world. This book covers every aspect of technology comprehensively and has transformed me into a technology enthusiast.

My recommendation

Through his engaging and forward-looking perspective, Bindra offers valuable guidance on how to navigate the digital age successfully. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to stay relevant and thrive in the ever-changing world of technology and business. It equips readers with the knowledge and tools needed to leverage emerging technologies for future success.

P.S.: Looking forward to an engaging keynote address by Jaspreet Bindra followed by a fireside chat with Archana Arora from Ants Digital, both discussing ‘GenAI and the Future of Work’ on September 23rd, during Day 2 of PRAXIS.
