The 12th edition of the World Public Relations Forum took place between November 19th and 22nd which was organised by the Global Alliance, of which The Promise Foundation is a part and co-hosted by Perhumas, the Indonesia Public Relations Association. The action unfolded in Bali, Indonesia at Merusaka Nusa Dua. The previous edition was held prior to the 10th edition of PRAXIS in Chennai in 2023.
Attendees were introduced to a diverse array of international speakers and had the opportunity to partake in social gatherings and networking sessions with over 400 professionals and students in attendance from 5 continents and 21 countries on any given day.. The theme for this year’s forum was ‘Purposeful Influence for the Common Good’
Over four days, the forum featured sessions tailored to diverse audiences:
19 November: Global Communications Knowledge Conference for the Global Scholars and Academicians Community in PR and Communications
20 November: World PR Forum for world PR practioners and professionals around the globe
21 November: Indonesia Public Relations Convention for Indonesia’s PR leaders
22 November: Indonesia Young Public Relations Gathering for Indonesia’s young future PR leaders

The event was elevated by the dynamic energy and active participation of every delegate, from engaging panel discussions to inspiring keynote addresses. It became a platform for exchanging transformative ideas, sharing deep insights, and building impactful connections that will shape the future of public relations.

On day one the event kicked off with an inaugural address by Boy Kelana Soebroto, Chairman of Indonesia Public Relations Association (Perhumas), followed by the presidential address delivered by Prof. Justin Green, President & CEO, Global Alliance for Public Relations & Communication Management. Keynote addresses and panel discussions on the central theme set an engaging tone for the day. In the next session, chaired by influential academicians, the focus shifted to advancing undergraduate public relations education.
Day two included powerful key notes and panel discussions by delegates from across the globe. The sessions included discussions around impact of technologies like AI and emphasised the importance of adapting PR strategies to align with emerging trends while maintaining transparency and accountability and the importance of balance in our rapidly changing world. The sessions closed with an impactful message on How People are the core to everything ang everything revolves around People.
After a day filled with enriching knowledge, meaningful networking, and vibrant cultural exchanges, the event culminated in an inspiring WPRF award ceremony, leaving everyone with smiles of joy and accomplishment.
Day three focused on Indonesia’s PR fraternity and its leaders. The leaders gathered to discuss and contribute to critical aspects of the profession relevant to the nation. The event provided opportunities to exchange ideas and engage in thought-provoking conversations on issues that collectively contributed to the development of PR practitioners in both the private and public sectors in Indonesia.
Day four served as a platform for young professionals to seek knowledge on trending issues and guidance on good PR practices.
Overall, WPRF 2024 served as a platform for exchanging innovative ideas, sharing best practices, and fostering collaboration to shape the future of public relations globally.
